What is the Political Courage Test?

Kansas Congressional Election 2022 Political Courage Test

Pro-choice Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
I believe in the right to choose, without explanation, without apology. The issue of when life begins is irrelevant to the discussion. These are ideas used to deviate from the issue and used to further unjust oppression against women. We had a compromise in place, and the right violated that compromise.
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Yes Do you support expanding federal funding to support entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare?
Yes. These programs are important and intrinsic to my platform. I believe in Medicare for all , and I believe in expanding social security for both the retired, and the disabled. We must work to eliminate poverty against all groups, and these two federal programs are exceptionally important in achieving that goal. I would expand Social Security to 50k at 50 years of age, as well as implement Medicare or all.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
I believe in the public funding of elections. I also support regulated how lobbyists, and corporations can bribe politicians. Our Government has been sold to private corporations to distance our workers from the means of production, and power needs to be returned without hesitation. I am however pro union, and do not consider labor unions to be a threat. However unions that do not represent its workers efficiently and effectively must be reorganized to better suit the workers it represents.
No Do you support the protection of government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct?
War criminals must be prosecuted. Police misconduct must be prosecuted. Our entire system of justice needs to be rebuilt around justice. It is currently used as a tool of oppression and colonization. Police have to many protections, and can murder and in some states even rape you under their currently protected status. These types of injustices do nothing but further mistrust in both the world scene, and the national discourse. Especially with our civil rights under attack by a supreme court that has shown no capability to protect rights we've had for years.
No Do you support increasing defense spending?
Our military is the largest terrorist organization on planet earth. The issue in itself is not so much about spending but about use. We constantly use the military to support genocidal authoritarian governments worldwide. We have spent an outrageous amount of time overthrowing democracies world wide. We have funded the genocide of multiple ethnic groups world wide, not even including the crimes against humanities perpetuated here at home. This spending does not go into the hands of the soldiers, it goes into the hands of defense contractors.
Yes Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations negatively impacted by the state of national emergency for COVID-19?
I only support relief to small businesses who have not the capability to brace themselves against economic turndown. Most major corporations could have easily shouldered the burden, but actively chose not to. They only care about their share holders. That being said a much better plan is direct economic relief delivered directly to the people. They are the ones that are truly suffering. The financial markets have all the support in the world, and the people suffer to sustain the 1%'s lifestyle.
Yes Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
We must understand the history of education in the United States. It has always been used as a tool to promote civil and worker obedience. It has never achieved its purpose of actually educating children. Now we have our educational facility under attack. They are being used as political tools in order to raise the next generation of ignorant workers. No matter the school, every student should have access to the same resources and learning opportunities. Also private schooling needs to end, or at the very least all federal funding should be prevented from going to private schools.
Yes Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
Yes Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
I also support utilizing nuclear power as a transitory phase, while we remove ourselves from carbon. The only opposition coming from anyone is from fossil fuel industry executives who don't want to be relegated to the past. They will not ever do the right thing. As green energies run counter intuitive to their mission.
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
I support what some would call common sense legislation, however we must understand that gun control that is done in the form of classism and racism must be opposed. Our marginalized communities are under constant threat from right wing violence, and their ability to defend themselves must be protected at all costs.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
No Do you support requiring businesses to provide paid medical leave during public health crises, such as COVID-19?
None of this is an issue under Medicare for all. It is the only way forward to see real progress done in the interest of public health. Private insurance must be abolished, and pharmaceutical companies must be heavily regulated and nationalized.
No Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
No Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
Our immigration system is completely broken. It needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. We must make it easier for people who are seeking a better life a chance to live the American Dream. We are seeing a direct result from our bad policies.
No Should the United States use military force to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a weapon of mass destruction (for example: nuclear, biological, chemical)?
Yes Do you support reducing military intervention in Middle East conflicts?
Diplomacy is the only path forward. Military intervention only leads to funding our future enemies. The destabilization of nations must stop, and commit to a peaceful path forward.
Yes Do you generally support removing barriers to international trade (for example: tariffs, quotas, etc.)?
As long as workers overseas are protected from exploitation. If a country commits human rights violations, I do not support trading with them. If workers are exploited I do not support importing from them. We must work to be self sufficient and help other countries do the same.
We can fund literally anything in this country. The source is the federal government. I have what I call universal rights, workers rights, rural investments as my top 3 priorities. Inflation is caused by corporate greed, and the 1% hoarding wealth at the top. Our cost of living crisis is caused by housing speculators from out of state buying up rental property. We could fix all this tomorrow if we had a government that would choose to act.
